Leisure & Recreation

Students have access to a wide range of leisure and recreational facilities in the local community - swimming, bowling, theatre and cinema visits etc etc. They work on a range of Community and Sports and Leisure modules - finding out about, and using local community facilities. The emphasis is on inclusive participation and independent access to leisure and recreational activities.

We have planned coaching courses and skills training in a wide variety of sports activities, e.g. football, tennis etc, using local community facilities. Students take part in the Sports Leaders’ courses at the High School and a programme of inter school sports events takes place throughout the year.

We have strong links with Aylesbury High School and one of our most successful ventures is the weekly Music Club. Students from both sites practise every week and perform in twice yearly concerts and at other social or fundraising events. Boys from the Grammar School come in to support our lunchtime and after school clubs.

Students have the opportunity to attend creative arts workshops - model making, steel bands, drumming, animation, puppet making etc.
Students have also joined the Jigsaw, Anjali and Chicken Shed Theatre groups.

An After School Club is held at Harding House. Information about a wide range of leisure and sports clubs in Buckinghamshire and evening, weekend and holiday activities and events is made available to students and their families .

Duke of Edinburgh activities include hiking, camping and orienteering.
